All articles submitted to the Journal of Psychological Research Perspectives are first reviewed by the editor. If an article is deemed outside the scope of the journal or not of publishable quality, it is rejected without assigning a field editor. For other articles, the editor assigns a field editor. The field editor then sends the article to at least two experts in the field for review.
Articles submitted to the Journal of Psychological Research Perspectives undergo a 'double-blind review' process. This means that the manuscripts sent to reviewers do not include the author's or institution’s information. Likewise, the authors do not know the identities of the reviewers. Therefore, authors are expected to upload two files: one with the title page containing author information and another with the manuscript.
Based on the “Article Evaluation Forms” completed by the reviewers, the field editor decides whether the article should be accepted, rejected, or revised. Reviewers conduct their evaluations in accordance with COPE’s principles of peer review.
According to the journal’s policies, the editor’s initial review of a submitted article is completed within 2-3 days. If the article passes the initial review, the field editor assigns reviewers within one day. The peer review process is completed within 30-45 days. After the peer review, the field editor submits their decision to the editor, who makes the final decision.
Articles that are accepted after the review process are assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and published in Early View. Articles published in Early View do not yet have volume, issue, and page numbers. When these articles are published in the relevant issue, they are assigned volume, issue, and page numbers and are then moved from Early View to the corresponding issue.
The Journal of Psychological Research Perspectives supports the pre-registration process. Pre-registration can be done through platforms like the Open Science Framework (OSF) or those provided by the authors’ institutions. This process allows researchers to openly share their research plan (including hypotheses, expected outcomes, and method details) with other researchers before conducting the study..
Authors must first register with the journal’s system to submit their articles to the Journal of Psychological Research Perspectives. After registering, they can upload their articles for review through the “submit article” section on the journal’s website.
